Amid COVID-19 Crisis, Lilly Introduces $35 Co-Pay for Insulin

Millions of Americans rely on Lilly medicines to make life better and help them stay healthy. With stress on our economy due to the COVID-19 crisis, we know many people may struggle now more than ever to pay for their medicines. So today, Lilly announced anyone who has commercial insurance, or no insurance, can purchase their monthly prescription of Lilly insulin for $35 through the Lilly Insulin Value Program.

The Lilly Insulin Value Program is effective today and covers most Lilly insulins, including Humalog and non-branded insulins.

People can get the Lilly Insulin Value Program card by calling the Lilly Diabetes Solution Center at 833-808-1234. The Solution Center is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday. The calls are simple, the average time on the phone is about 10 minutes, and there’s no paperwork to fill out. We have operators who can take calls in Spanish and we can translate information into about 40 languages.

Solution Center representatives can send the card in the most convenient way for people, including email or U.S. mail.

Those who already have a co-pay card from the Lilly Diabetes Solution Center do not need to call again; active co-pay cards have been reset to a $35 co-pay.

Due to federal guidelines, seniors in Medicare Part D plans are not eligible for a savings card but can call the Solution Center to see if they’re eligible for other options. However, we encourage them to call the Solution Center to see if they’re eligible for other options, including our Insulin Lispro, a non-branded version of our most popular insulin with a 50% lower list price.

Other Affordability Solutions

Solution Center representatives can also direct people to affordability options that reduce their out-of-pocket costs further – such as free insulin for people with minimal income, or no income at all, that has been donated by Lilly to nonprofit organizations.

Additionally, people who use Baqsimi can continue to get a $25 co-pay card, which was first made available last summer, through the Solution Center.

Lilly has introduced several affordability solutions in recent years, including three non-branded versions of Humalog with list prices 50% lower than the branded versions.

Our Insulin Supply

As we announced in March, Lilly does not currently anticipate shortages of any forms of our insulin during the COVID-19 crisis. Lilly insulins are available in U.S. pharmacies. Pharmacies that don’t have certain medicines in stock can order them from wholesalers, with delivery in one to two days. You can read more here about Lilly’s global COVID-19 response.
